A two-story bourbon bar blending upscale style with a welcoming atmosphere is coming to downtown Savannah.

Broughton Reserve, owned by Dhaval Patel, will open at 107 W. Broughton St., according to business filings.

“My boss, he’s a big bourbon connoisseur guy, big on bourbon culture, was at a bourbon bar in Kentucky. They had 4,000 bourbons and it was super nice, and he said, ‘Savannah needs this,’” general manager Jayme Simmonds told What Now Charleston.

To follow suit, the bourbon bar will offer about 300 to 400 bourbons and whiskeys, along with a selection of high-end tequilas. Mixologist Scott Marshall will lead the cocktail program.

“We’re going to have some bourbons and whiskeys for $500 a shot—all your very old age-statement bourbons that are 27 years old,” Simmonds said.

Broughton Reserve will also feature more than 50 private barrels.

“It will be an eclectic collection. Each one has a very distinct flavor to it. It’s just like drinking wine; each barrel is very, very different—there’s higher wheat, which gives a little bit more sweetness; there’s higher rye content, which gives a little bit more spice. They also have different evaporation levels because each barrel will lose a certain percentage of bourbon through the aging process,” he said.

A few of the private barrel selections include Angel’s Envy, Four Roses, Oak & Eden, Maker’s Mark, Rebel BIB and Penelope Project.

To complement its bourbon selection, the menu will offer Indian-inspired small plates and a variety of sourdough flatbread pizzas.

“The vibe is going to be elegant and business casual, but we want to be approachable to everybody. We want someone to come in with shorts and flip-flops and be able to order a pizza and nice bourbon and still feel comfortable,” he said.

Simmonds said the team is eager to welcome Savannah residents and visitors to the new spot.

“We’re just excited to put our vision out there because bourbon is super popular and people love it. People get really excited about it, and to be able to share that excitement with people is very exciting,” he said.

An opening date has not yet been announced. Visit the Broughton Reserve website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
