With stores on King Street and in Mt. Pleasant Town Centre, along with spin-off stores like Johnnie-O by M. Dumas & Sons and Southern Tide by M. Dumas & Sons, longstanding Charleston apparel brand M. Dumas & Sons is a brand with “A Century of Style, a Heritage of Service.”
Now, the brand is consolidating some of its services as it prepares to relocate Johnnie-O by M. Dumas & Sons, currently found at 132 Market Street in the Shops at The Charleston Place, to King Street. According to coverage by the Post and Courier, Johnnie-O by M. Dumas & Sons will open at 295 King St. in mid-October.
Opened in 2023 in partnership with Johnnie-O, the lifestyle brand based in California, Johnnie-O by M. Dumas & Sons has reached the end of its lease. In its new 2,500-square-foot home, it will boast more than twice its current space and, the coverage says, establish M. Dumas & Sons storefronts at three consecutive King Street addresses: 294, 295 and 296.”
“More than a store, M. Dumas & Sons has become part of Charleston’s landscape: a gathering place, a style authority, and a living reminder that legacy is built one customer, one conversation, and one generation at a time,” says the M. Dumas & Sons website. “Our collections merge contemporary design with timeless construction—where sharp cuts meet hand-finished detail. More than just fashion, each piece is a form of personal expression—made to move with you, made to mean something.”
