This week, the Post and Courier reported on the upcoming Hanahan groundbreaking of Blackwells Corner, a new town center whose name is an homage to the hardware store that operated on the site for more than 75 years until 2025.

The Post and Courier coverage revealed restaurant tenants like Kudu Coffee & Wine, Untitled Pizza Co., and “a yet-to-be-named mercato and wine bar led by Cane Pazzo owner Mark Bolchoz.”

So far, there’s only one retail tenant named for Blackwells Corner, but it’s an exciting one: Pineapple House Boutique, the locally owned apparel-and-more shop owned by Hanahan native T’Lene Salters Brown.

For Brown, the Hanahan shop represents a kind of homecoming.

“I started the brand because of my love for Charleston, and for sharing all the beautiful things that are made here. I have a lot of friends who are local artisans, and I wanted to showcase their work.”

From there, the shop, which is located at 30 Pinckney St in Charleston, began to offer more items: apparel, accessories, jewelry.

“I’m born and raised in Hanahan, and it was very important to me, once we got the store up and running, that we open one there. Once I heard we were going to this kind of downtown area, I had to get involved.”

The new store is expected to launch in Fall 2027, offering the same great selection of clothing, accessories, jewelry, home items, and more, that you can find in the Charleston boutique.
