Legends is preparing to relocate to 316 W. Cabarrus St. in Raleigh, with the new entertainment venue scheduled to open in October. According to a September Instagram post from Raleigh Magazine, the current location at 330 W. Hargett St. will host its final weekend October 16–18, followed by a grand opening celebration at the new location October 23–25.
The move will keep Legends in downtown Raleigh, where the business has been a longtime part of the city’s LGBTQ+ entertainment scene. Raleigh Magazine previously reported on the relocation, noting that Legends would remain in the Warehouse District while transitioning to a new space. The publication described the new venue as a roughly 10,000-square-foot space that will bring familiar elements of Legends into a new setting.
The new location is expected to include several of the features associated with Legends, including dancing, entertainment and a game room. Raleigh Magazine previously reported that the new space will also offer a larger outdoor patio, giving the venue additional space for guests.
Legends has operated at its West Hargett Street address since 1991, according to the venue’s website. Over the years, the business has become known for its entertainment programming, drag performances, dancing and community-focused events. Its website continues to promote a variety of entertainment and events at the Raleigh destination.
