A new neighborhood restaurant is preparing to debut in downtown Cary this August, according to Axios Raleigh. Lloyd’s Full Service will open at 107 E. Chatham Street, transforming a former auto shop into a dining destination from Early Bird Night Owl Hospitality Group, the hospitality company behind projects including The Durham, The Mayton in Cary, and the under-construction Gables in Raleigh.
Axios Raleigh reports that the restaurant occupies a historic 1951 filling station at the corner of Chatham and Academy streets. The redevelopment preserves one of downtown Cary’s oldest commercial buildings while introducing a covered outdoor patio overlooking the heart of the town’s growing dining district.
The kitchen will be led by chef Dennis Bernard, who will serve a menu featuring dishes such as linguine with clams, a fried fish plate, an all-day breakfast platter, and a hot dog inspired by the former Ashworth Drugs, a longtime Cary landmark, according to Axios Raleigh.
The restaurant will seat approximately 75 guests indoors and up to 100 more on its covered patio. Axios Raleigh also reports that the outdoor space will feature a vintage-style van converted into a service station for food and drinks, creating an additional gathering spot for guests.
The publication reports that the restaurant is envisioned as a neighborhood destination serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, cocktails, and weekend brunch in a relaxed setting. The concept aims to honor Cary’s history while offering a welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
Lloyd’s Full Service is currently targeting an August opening, adding another locally driven dining option to downtown Cary’s expanding restaurant scene.
