As Orosoko Sound Bar celebrates its one-year anniversary, the team behind the concept is working with Oaklore Distilling to plan a new bar and bottle shop in South End at 1425 Winnifred St.
Expected to open this summer across the street from Orosoko, Oaklore Bottle Shop & Bar will serve as a 900-square-foot bar and waiting room for Orosoko customers that will serve Oaklore Spirits, according to Axios Charlotte. Expect a list of signature cocktails, as well as bottled spirits to choose from.
Greg and Lisa Pappanastos, Nick Spain and Jay Pound opened Orosoko Sound Bar last year as a restaurant and cocktail lounge. It offers an East vs. West menu, featuring tacos and crab burritos as well as chicken dumplings and duck confit summer rolls. It also serves signature cocktails, wine and sake.
“This cocktail, or ‘listening,’ lounge offers guests a unique setting to enjoy craft cocktails and relaxed fine dining from renowned Chef Jason Pound, while being immersed in the curated sounds of a skilled DJ on our world-class audio system. There simply is nothing like it,” the Orosoko website states. “Indulge in our beautifully crafted signature cocktails, while savoring Asian and Latin inspired tapas-style shareables in a natural environment that exudes sophistication, comfort and luxury. Enjoy a first-class, welcoming atmosphere that is stylish, but never pretentious.”
Friends Matt Simpkins and Tom Bogan opened Oaklore Distillery in Matthews in 2022.
“What began as a shared passion among friends around a neighborhood bonfire now sits proudly as a bottle on the shelf. Oaklore Distilling Co. is a testament to the enduring value of dedication, community and vision,” the Oaklore website states.
