Farewell to Heritage Restaurant and Caviar Bar
As Heritage Restaurant and Caviar Bar plans to close this summer, it marks the end of an 8-year journey for its owners, Guy and Tif Meikle. The decision to give up the space was made after the lease renewal negotiations. In its statement, Heritage thanked its guests, staff, collaborators and friends for their crucial roles in the restaurant’s story.
Co-owner and chef Guy Meikle, in a statement, said, “Heritage was built on the spirit of connection—through food, service, hospitality, and the people who brought it all to life. This decision, though difficult, comes from a place of reflection and care.”
“This restaurant has always been a safe space to grow, create, laugh, and connect. What we’ve made together here is bigger than any one person—it’s a shared story, and it will always matter,” co-owner Tif Meikle said.
The restaurant said it will finalize its closing timeline in the coming weeks. They informed the community about the forthcoming closure through the restaurant’s Instagram page.
Guests Invited Throughout the Summer
The restaurant has been serving the Chicago community for 8 years and will continue to do so until its last day. Over the next few months, it will continue to offer all that it is known for—flavorful fare, friendly service, and the acclaimed caviar program. It has welcomed guests to visit the restaurant in the coming weeks to say one last goodbye.
The restaurant will also be hosting various special events throughout its last season. The announcement said staff look forward to hosting special events in the final weeks. For details, follow their Facebook page and official website.
The announcement did not provide any information about what the future holds for the restaurant team. Chicago will bid goodbye to yet another standout restaurant this August.
