Nevada-based fast-casual sandwich shop Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is opening a new location in Chicago, located at 1730 W. Fullerton Ave.

The new 1,632 square-foot sandwich shop will move into Riverpoint Center at an unknown date. This will be the fifth location in Chicago, with the majority owned by franchise partners Craig Garofalo and Andy Poch, who opened the first Chicago location in 2016. It’s unclear if the new Riverpoint Center location will be owned by these franchisees, but what is known is that this will become the northernmost location in the windy city, and eighth in Chicagoland.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop started in 1976 under brother-sister duo Lois and Alan Margolet, dedicating it to their grandfather, Philip Capriotti, who loved to cook. They wanted to create a sandwich for “real turkey lovers,” so they started roasting whole fresh turkeys overnight, a practice that continues to this day. Now, CEO Ashley Morris has 112 company-owned and franchise locations in 16 states, including the District of Columbia, with more on the way.

“Chicago is a foodie market,” Garofalo said after opening their first location in Chicago. “We wanted to bring them something truly special. It was important to Andy and me to open a place where we truly enjoy the food ourselves and felt proud of what we are serving. Capriotti’s met both requirements.”
