A month later, the team has decided to keep serving the area.
From Patch.com, Hell’s BBQ is taking over the Danelli’s Italian Restaurant at 228 E Washington Street in downtown Oswego. Originally, the team had planned on closing for good. Owner Keith Richards told What Now Chicago they are hoping to open by the holidays.
“This opportunity means so much to us. We’re proud to continue our story in Oswego and excited to become part of the downtown community!” Says the recent post from the owners.
The BBQ concept was originally at 1019 Station Drive. It first opened in 2022, and has been praised as one of the best spots for smoked meats in Kendall County. Following the lease ending, Richards said finding a new spot was always in the plans.
The Station Drive location had options including meat platters, pulled pork sandwiches and even egg rolls with brisket or jack chicken. Hot and cold sides were also offered, like mac & cheese and Mexican corn. The new menu will feature many of the same options, and a few new additions as the kitchen is larger.
Their new location is near the intersection of Route 71, next to a 7-Eleven. The building sits across from the plaza that houses Roadhouse 71 restaurant and Dosbro Fresh Mexican Grill & Catering. This is a few blocks south of downtown Oswego’s center.
