Jersey Mike’s continues to be one of the fastest-growing sandwich chains in America, with a new location coming to Old Irvine Park, located at 4359 W. Irving Park Rd.

The new restaurant will move into the former home of Pork & Mindy’s in early October, according to Block Club Chicago. This will be franchise owner Collin Dissette’s first Jersey Mike’s location. The Vice President of Operations at PLG Enterprises manages three separate divisions of restaurants and real estate portfolios and oversees day-to-day operations of ten restaurants with sales that exceed $5.5 million annually. This should be no problem for the University of Iowa alumni.

The new Jersey Mike’s will be an appropriate replacement for Pork & Mindy’s, a sandwich chain that went bankrupt in 2019. Before that, the address was home to Get a Grip Cycles. The restaurant has more than 2,200 locations nationwide, with many more on the way. In Chicagoland, there are at least 20 locations in the area. The new Jersey Mike’s in Old Irvine Park will compete with a nearby Subway and Potbelly.

Although the sandwich chain has proved to be a popular option across the country, there are plenty of reasons to choose it over other sandwich chains. First, all of the produce is grown, packed, and shipped locally, while the bread is baked in-store every day. As for meats, the company uses the leanest, tastiest cuts of meats and fine, aged cheeses, slicing both right in front of the customer. To top it all off, Jersey Mike’s has a delicious red wine vinegar and an olive oil blend that gives each sub an exquisite zing.
