A new Jewish deli is coming to Glencoe next month.

It was recently announced that Mensch’s Deli will be opening their new location in Glencoe at 668 Vernon Avenue. This will be their second deli, the first one being in Evanston at 1608 Chicago Avenue. Owner Eric Kogan said he is hoping to open the business the first week of June, but this may change based on work needing to be done.

It’s a loose date as of this moment,” Kogan told What Now Chicago.

Kogan is the owner with his childhood friend Jack DeMar, who recently opened Picnic right next door. The two recently decided to go into this business venture together as the landlord of the property was interested in their new restaurants.

“The menu will be very similar to the original location in Evanston,” Kogan said. He added they may be limiting some of the fish options that will be served.

It was previously reported by What Now Chicago that this was the location of Honey Butter Fried Chicken. It was also Poppy’s Social restaurant before this, and both businesses were around for about a year. This new location will be two storefronts, with Picnic on the right and Mensch’s on the left, which will have a large patio.

Being a deli, there are many breakfast options to choose from, including eggs with challah and bread, eggs and bacon, omelets, breakfast sandwiches and sweets including babka french toast. They also advertise their latkes served with applesauce and sour cream. For drinks, there is coffee, tea, orange juice and other beverages including sodas.
