Molly’s Cupcakes, voted one of the best cupcake bakeries in the country, is opening a new location in Skokie, located at 4905 Old Orchard Center.

The company that won the Cupcake Wars in 2009 is getting ready to open its seventh location in Chicago. The new location will move into the first level of the Westfield Old Orchard mall, sitting in between Clarks and Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. Molly’s Cupcakes, founded and owned by John Nicolaides, also has stores in New York, Iowa, and Cincinnati. The new Skokie location is expected to open sometime in Fall 2022, along with several other restaurants and retailers coming to the shopping mall, including Capital Grille and Bar Siena.

Nicolaides started the famous bakery after being inspired by his third-grade teacher, Miss Molly. She would bake delicious cupcakes with her own special chocolate and vanilla recipe for any occasion. Everyone would say they were the best cupcakes ever. In honor of Molly, the company donates a portion of its profits to schools in the community. This delicious bakery, known for its center-filled cupcakes, can be found in Park West, River East, West Loop, South Loop, Woodfield, and Naperville.

The cupcakes are baked from scratch in small batches every day. Each batch is baked throughout the day, ensuring every cupcake comes out fresh. Some popular flavors include cake batter, creme brûlée, peanut butter Nutella, cookie monster, and peach cobbler. If those flavors don’t satisfy your cravings, there’s the option to create your own. To top it all off, each store features a sprinkle station, where guests can decorate their cupcakes with any color of their choice.
