According to a recent article from the Daily Herald, Pirosmani Georgian Food Art in Wheeling will soon expand into an adjacent space from 849 W Dundee Rd.

A representative of Pirosmani Georgian Food Art was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to the article, “Not even two years after opening, a Georgian deli in Wheeling soon will expand and offer sit-down, fine-dining service. Partners David Namgalauri and Bedzina Bregadze now plan to expand into a vacant, adjacent space in the Dunhurst Plaza.”

“Pirosmani Georgian Food Art, 849 W. Dundee Road, sells traditional Georgian dumplings, kabobs, salads, and more. An array of cookies, tarts, and other desserts are on the menu, too. Adding dining service will diversify Wheeling’s restaurant options, create new jobs, and build the village’s tax base, Namgalauri said in a letter to village officials. A Georgian chef is among the planned hires.”

“After a public discussion of the plan during its meeting Monday night, the village board awarded the restaurant a roughly $21,166 grant to help fund the renovation. Work will be done on the floors, electrical and plumbing systems, kitchen, and more. Booths, tables, and other amenities will be added to create seating for up to 64 guests, documents indicate.”

According to Pirosmani’s website, “We are pleased to welcome you to our Georgian Deli PIROSMANI, where we offer a true taste of Georgian dishes. Our kitchen is named after the famous Georgian artist Niko Pirosmani and our menu is influenced by the diverse culinary history of Georgia which is filled with mouthwatering flavors made with accustomed ingredients.”

“We are committed to providing you with an unforgettable gastronomic experience, whether it is through traditional dishes or lesser-known delicacies. Pirosmani offers you a wide selection of quality Georgian wines and spirits, Country which has 8000 years of winemaking tradition. The first deli owned and operated by Georgians in the Midwest will offer you a dine-in restaurant soon…”
