Portillo’s continues to expand throughout Chicagoland and has announced a new location coming to Cicero at 3300 South Cicero Ave.
The new 7,800-square-foot restaurant will feature a retro automotive garage theme and seating for more than 200 guests between the dining room and on a seasonal outdoor patio, according to a recent press release. It will also feature the chain’s signature dual drive-thru lanes. Portillo’s announced this location along with two other upcoming sites in Algonquin and Rosemont, the latter being the company’s second pick-up-only location. All locations are expected to open before the end of the year.
“Our longtime, loyal Chicago fans have been a critical part of our 60-year history,” Portillo’s CEO Michael Osanloo said in a press release. “We’re excited to continue expanding our footprint in Illinois, so we can bring our delicious Chicago-style street food to even more guests throughout Chicagoland.”
The new 7,800-square-foot restaurant in Algonquin on Randall Road and Corporate Parkway will feature seating for more than 200 diners between the dining room and on a seasonal outdoor patio. It will also feature a pick-up area as well as double drive-thru lanes to accommodate off-premise guests. The Rosemont location at 10290 W. Higgins Rd. will not have an indoor dining room. Instead, the smaller-footprint restaurant will feature three drive-thru lanes and an inside pick-up area for online orders.
“We could not be more excited to welcome Portillo’s into Rosemont this year,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens in a press release. “Just as my father, as the founder of the village, always wanted a McDonald’s, I am thrilled to welcome my youngest son Joseph’s favorite restaurant, Portillo’s, a Chicago legend, to Rosemont. I’m ready to wait in the drive-thru line!”
