The Original Just Turkey got its start as “the world’s first, all turkey-based BBQ House and restaurant” back in 2007, when brothers and co-founders Brian and Greg Morton opted to open a BBQ house that offered a healthy alternative to red meat. In the intervening years, Just Turkey has debuted in Los Angeles and Minneapolis, and now Chicagoland is getting a second shop.
Lease intel obtained by What Now Chicago indicates The Original Just Turkey (that name means no pork or beef has ever touched those grills) will open at 120 W 87th St, Suite 11, in a 1,740 square-foot retail space. Speaking with What Now Chicago, Co-Owner Greg Morton confirmed the addition to the brand’s footprint and said he expects an early 2022 opening for the Chatham-area shop.
If you’ve somehow missed out on this craze, here’s what you need to know. Just Turkey means just turkey, and when you eat here, that’s all you need. According to the brand’s website, the BBQ house is the originator of the world-famous BBQ Turkey Tips. These tips are grilled fresh every day and then simmered in Just Turkey’s signature sauce. You can also find a sprawling menu of turkey burgers, turkey legs, Italian turkey, and more to choose from. Loaded Turkey nachos, anyone??
