Those in need of a new read in the western suburbs are getting a new option.

Booktique Unlimited is a new book store concept coming to 7420 W Archer Avenue this year. It comes from local book lover Amanda Barrios, who has organized book clubs and pop-ups in the past. Barrios told What Now Chicago she is planning a grand opening of Aug. 29.

Summit does not yet have a dedicated book store, and Barrios has been wanting to bring an option to the community for months. Previously, she has organized pop-ups at locations such as Painted Tree Boutiques, a chain that has now closed all locations. After organizing at other small businesses, she had the idea to debut a brick-and-mortar herself.

“I want to provide book services to the community,” Barrios said.

All genres of novels will be available, including thrillers, romance and fantasy, as well as children’s books. She wants to sell merchandise as well, like bookmarks and stickers. Book recommendations that may be sold are already on the Booktique Unlimited Facebook page.

The “booktique” as Barrios calls it is coming to the north side of Archer Avenue, next to S Hunt Avenue. Too Fab Beauty Salon is also at the building, and this is also across the street from a Boost Mobile location. This is near the Interstate 55 entrance ramp, where 1st Avenue becomes Archer Avenue.
