Less than two months ago, Belong officially entered the U.S. market when it opened its first American store in Texas. The company was founded in the UK in 2016 and, according to the LinkedIn profile for the U.S. Director of Real Estate Laurie Rozen, has plans to add 500 U.S. stores in the future.
At present, Belong has two Texas arenas open to the public and three more announced, one in Colimbus, OH, one in Nashville, TN, and, of course, one right here in Chicagoland. According to lease intel Obtained by What Now Chicago, Belong Chicago will open in a 6,928 square foot space in Lake View Plaza, the shopping center at the corner of 159th and S. La Grange Road in Orland Park.
What exactly does this mean for lovers of gaming? “Our gaming arenas are a social space for competitive gamers, social players, as well as the newest and freshest faces in the world of gaming,” shares Belong’s website. The arenas offer high-powered gaming PCs, Xbox and Playstation consoles, as well as pro rooms for training and practice. No matter your skill level, Belong wants to see you there.
No word yet on when exactly the Chicago-area arena will open, although Belong’s social media suggests the arena should be open by the end of this year.
