A new Mexican restaurant is making plans to open in east Columbus, according to a recent permit filing. Cinco de Mayo Restaurant will open at 4252 Eastland Square Dr, in Eastland Square Shopping Plaza. The permit details work to be performed to alter the existing space and convert it into a restaurant by constructing new walls and alterations to the bathroom, in addition to electrical and plumbing work, with the projected scope of work to cost $55,000.
Although it’s still early in the permitting process, a representative with Cinco de Mayo Restaurant tells What Now Columbus that they hope to open the eatery by sometime in May, and the establishment will seat between 40 to 60 guests. In terms of the menu, the restaurant will serve traditional Mexican cuisine including tacos.
According to Google Maps, Jax’s Lucky Duck has been a tenant at 4252 Eastland Square Drive, but there’s no phone number listed online that is associated with the business.
