Canal Winchester is getting a new Cajun restaurant as Jam Jam prepares to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 30 Liberty St. inside Sweet Harmony Canal.
The restaurant is from Justin Boehme, a former Short North restaurant operator who ran Da Levee, a Cajun restaurant in the Short North from 2010 to 2018. With Jam Jam, Boehme is bringing a new take on Cajun comfort food to Canal Winchester.
Jam Jam is expected to open soon, with initial hours planned for Tuesday through Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
The menu is expected to feature Cajun- and Louisiana-inspired dishes, including jambalaya, gumbo, po’ boys, and the Jam burrito. The concept will also offer Jam pies, with fillings such as pepperoni and jambalaya.
The restaurant will operate within Sweet Harmony Canal, a live music and entertainment venue located at 30 Liberty St. in Canal Winchester. The addition of Jam Jam will give visitors another dining option while visiting the venue.
For Boehme, the new restaurant marks a return to the Cajun restaurant scene following his time with Da Levee. Jam Jam will offer his latest interpretation of the cuisine while establishing a new presence outside Columbus’ Short North neighborhood.
What Now Columbus reached out to Boehme for additional comment but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
