According to recent reporting, a new cigar and bourbon lounge is on its way to the Dublin area. Located at 30 S High St, The Apothecary Cigar and Bourbon will be housed in a cabin that dates back to the 1830s. The cigar and bourbon bar, along with an additional wine tasting concept called Uncorked Wine Tastings located next door at 32 S High, is owned by Todd Corwin, his brother, Mark, and Todd’s wife Jennifer Kuo.

As documented on the establishment’s social media, over the years the cabin had become camouflaged with siding, had several out buildings added and a lean-to attached to the original structure.

“There’s people that walk by [the building] that have been in Dublin all their life and never knew it was a cabin,” Todd Corwin shared in a written communication with What Now Columbus.

Due to some structural damage caused by the lean-to, when the renovations are complete, the cabin will need siding on the outside. Plans are in place to have a humidor inside, where guests can select their own cigar. Smoking will take place in the outdoor smoking pavilion, which will be heated during winter. Although there won’t be food offered, the business will allow food to be brought in from other restaurants, and the wine bar will offer small snacks, like charcuterie.

The team has unearthed a lot of items over the course of the renovations and have shared some of their finds on social media. One such item is a wallet that contains pictures and various documents.

Todd Corwin tells What Now Columbus that the business owners have a desire to keep as many historical details as possible so the community can experience a piece of Dublin history at the business. One way they plan to do that, is by keeping some of the original exposed log siding visible indoors.

The business is slated to open next spring, but follow along as the renovations unfold on the lounge’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
