Burger King is coming to Grapevine Mills, the large outlet mall in Grapevine, Texas. The restaurant will take over a 1,443-square-foot space in the mall’s food court, at 3000 Grapevine Mills Parkway, with construction scheduled for January to April 2027.
The location is planned to be run by International Restaurant Management Group (IRMG), a Burger King franchisee. The project is a roughly $225,000 renovation of an existing food court restaurant, which will be converted into the new Burger King. All existing equipment will be replaced, some interior walls will be removed and two partial walls will be built.
The space is in the mall’s food court, known as the Dining Pavilion at Grapevine Mills, which was redeveloped during a renovation of the mall from 2014 to 2016. Grapevine Mills opened in 1997 and spans about 1.8 million square feet on a single level, with more than 200 stores. It is owned by Simon Property Group and KanAm Grund Group, and includes attractions such as Legoland Discovery Center, Sea Life Grapevine Aquarium and The Real Unreal, a Meow Wolf experience. New additions this year include Timberland.
IRMG is one of the larger Burger King franchisees. Founded by Kelly Yeung after she immigrated from Hong Kong, the company opened its first full-service restaurant in Miami Beach in 1975 and became a Burger King franchisee in the early 2000s, with its first store opening at Dolphin Mall in 2007. It has since added Popeyes and Starbucks locations, and in 2023 it signed a development agreement for 20 more Burger King restaurants over five years. The company passed 200 restaurants in 2024 and aims for 300 by 2027.
Burger King is also working on a wider refresh of its restaurants, called Sizzle, which brings upgraded interiors and exteriors, expanded drive-thru lanes, digital ordering kiosks and defined mobile pickup spots.
