According to public filings, Huey’s Coffee plans to open a new location at 509 W. E. Crawford Ave., in Fate. Permitting records list a construction completion date of November 2026.
What Now Dallas reached out to Will Burrows, Huey’s Coffee CEO, to inquire about the opening timeline but did not receive an answer prior to publication.
Huey’s Coffee is known for its drive-thru-only format, serving locally roasted coffee along with a menu of espresso drinks, frappes, energy drinks, iced tea and lemonade, hot chocolate, and food items such as breakfast bagel sandwiches.
The Fate opening would mark an expansion beyond Huey’s traditional East Texas footprint, where the drive-thru chain currently operates locations in Gilmer, Pittsburg, Mount Pleasant, Greenville, Paris, and Marshall, along with a location in Urbana, Ohio, according to the brand’s website. Fate, in Rockwall County, sits closer to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex than any of the brand’s existing Texas locations.
The Fate and Rockwall County area has seen a wave of new restaurant activity that What Now has tracked closely.
What Now Dallas recently covered Chicken Salad Chick’s planned Rockwall location, confirmed by franchise owner Meggie Schissler of J&M Hospitality. This outlet has also reported on HTeaO’s first Rockwall location, owned by longtime Rockwall residents Jeff and Ashley Ivy, and Vidorra’s new Rockwall restaurant overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard.
