Cherry Creek is getting a little sweeter. Butterdrop Bakeshop, a women-owned bakery built around handcrafted treats and made-to-order desserts, is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar storefront in Denver.
The bakery is planned for 250 Detroit Street, next to Aviano Coffee, where co-founders Lynne Doherty and Diana Flores hope to create a neighborhood spot for everything from a morning pastry to a cake for a special celebration.
According to Butterdrop’s website, the menu will span both sweet and savory options. Customers can expect cookies, macarons, cake pops, muffins, scones, pies, cheesecakes and specialty desserts, along with savory breakfast items such as quiches. The shop also plans to offer handcrafted cakes and custom orders for celebrations, including birthdays and weddings.
Butterdrop’s approach centers on familiar flavors and thoughtful preparation, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. The idea is to give customers a place to pick up a treat for themselves, bring something home to share or order a dessert for a special occasion.
Founded by Doherty and Flores, the bakery brings together their shared vision for a community-focused business. Flores, who is originally from Honduras, brings pastry expertise to the venture. BusinessDen reported that the Cherry Creek shop would mark her first brick-and-mortar bakery after a decade in Denver.
Beyond its everyday offerings, Butterdrop plans to support local makers and collaborate with nearby businesses. The bakery also highlights seasonal events, artist collaborations and custom desserts as part of its broader focus on community.
Further details about the storefront and its opening will be available as the project moves forward. For more information, visit Butterdrop Bakeshop’s website.
