After 31 years of independent brewing, Great Divide Brewing Co. has officially been acquired by Wilding Brands, a Lafayette-based craft beverage collective. According to the Denver Post, the deal includes Great Divide’s wholesale business and its future physical expansions.
“We are excited to welcome Great Divide Brewing to the Wilding family. This marks a new chapter for the Colorado craft industry, and we are honored to build upon the legacy that Great Divide has established over the past three decades,” the conglomerate posted on LinkedIn.
Founded in 1994 by Brian Dunn, Great Divide has become a pillar of Colorado’s craft beer movement. Dunn will stay involved through the transition and continue overseeing the business’s two Denver locations, while production will shift to Wilding’s facility in the Sunnyside neighborhood.
Wilding Brands was formed in late 2024 through Stem Ciders. The company has rapidly expanded its portfolio to also include brands like Cerveceria Colorado, Howdy Beer, Easy Living Hop Water, Funkwerks, and Formation Brewing. What Now Denver reported on its recent acquisition of Denver Beer Co.
