Fogo de Chão is bringing its fire-roasted, tableside-carved Brazilian steakhouse experience to Livonia, MI, with plans for a new full service restaurant at 38888 Six Mile Road. The chain, owned by Bain Capital Private Equity, built its reputation on churrasco, the centuries-old Brazilian tradition of continuously roasting and carving meat over an open flame right at the guest’s table. According to Livonia City Council agenda and minutes, the restaurant’s operating entity, Fogo de Chão Churrascaria (Livonia), LLC, has filed for a liquor license to allow packaged beer and wine sales alongside the dining room.

The Livonia location would mark Fogo de Chão’s second restaurant in Michigan, following its first, which opened in Troy in November of a prior year. That location, on West Big Beaver Road near Interstate 75, has become known for its churrasco style continuous tableside service, with Brazilian trained gaucho chefs carving fire roasted cuts like picanha, fraldinha and filet mignon directly at guests’ tables.

Founded in southern Brazil in 1979, Fogo de Chão has grown to more than 50 U.S. locations, alongside restaurants internationally, building its identity around open flame roasted meats, a market table of salads and Brazilian side dishes, and an upscale, full service dining experience. The Livonia restaurant is part of Fogo de Chão’s broader 2026 expansion plan, which targets between 14 and 16 new domestic and international openings.
