Following their St. Clair Shores success, ice cream scoops are being brought to a new suburb.
A lease was recently finalized with Keystone Commercial Real Estate for Modern Cone, coming to 65800 Van Dyke Road. This is the second location from owners Chelsea and Joslyn Mazzetti, locals of Southeast Michigan. The opening date will be sometime next year, pending construction progress.
Modern Cone, established in 2018, has become a popular dessert spot in St. Clair Shores at 28616 Harper Avenue. It has become known for their out-there creations, such as ice cream nachos and stackers. Other desserts include ice cream flights for $13, banana splits and a brownie float.
The popular stackers are basically elevated milkshakes, as ice cream is mixed in with other sauces like marshmallow and chocolate. Their ‘Death By Chocolate” includes Oreos, brownies, hot fudge and chocolate chips. The Mazzetti’s also prepare ice cream cakes with their team.
The building is on the east side of Van Dyke Avenue, across the street from Art & Jake’s Sports Bar & Grill. A Taco Bell is also at the plaza across the street, and this is also close to Romeo’s Family Restaurant. Downtown Romeo is just north of the location.
