The car wash chain is expanding in their home state next year.
Jax Kar Wash is not finished expanding throughout the state as a new location is coming to 5834 Highland Road in Waterford Township, from recent posts on social media. CEO of Jax Kar Wash Jon Zimmerman told What Now Detroit there is no opening date as construction has not started, but will most likely be sometime in 2027.
“The Waterford location is another win for a brand that continues to set the pace for the industry. As Jax Kar Wash continues its mission to dominate the Michigan and Great Lakes markets, Keystone is honored to be the engine behind their site selection and real estate execution,” said an article from Keystone Commercial Real Estate, the company which carried out the deal for the new site.
The Michigan-based car wash company has grown to over 60 locations around the Midwest, including in Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. It was originally started by Jack Milen in 1950 in Detroit, and was later taken over by his son, Bruce. Now, the company is looking at regional expansion.
Those stopping by for either a quick wash or extensive clean can choose from multiple options like basic plus, almost everything and everything. The packages do tire shines, windshield treatment and hot wax or shine. Their unlimited wash club ranges from $26 a month to $40, depending on the service.
Jax Kar Wash is building the new location on the north side of Highland Road, between a McDonald’s and Firehouse Subs. This is also across from the Lunghamer Buick GMC dealership, as well as RJ’s Books & Paperbacks. Waterford Township is on the outskirts of Metro Detroit, about 45 minutes northwest of downtown.
