A Lansing-based comic books store is continuing to grow.
Summit Comics & Games will be the newest entertainment spot at the mall this year. Owner Regan Clem already sells his comics at one shop in Lansing and two locations in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Clem told What Now Detroit he is planning on opening the shop either late October or early November.
The store has been around for more than 20 years, and after Clem took over the business he had plans for expansion. He wants to open additional locations in the state, and when he found Rivertown Crossings he knew it would be a great fit for his business.
“The mall has good management,” Clem said.
At the shops, he sells many classic graphic novels like The Amazing Spider Man, GI Joe and Wolverine. At Rivertown Crossing, the team will debut a “Summit-exclusive” cover of Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1. Action figures, funko pops and card games are also popular options.
The store is opening at the lower level of the mall next to Aerie. This is on the west side of the mall, behind JCPenney. The mall is on the south end of Grandville near the Interstate 196 on-ramp.
As construction progresses, Clem and the team will be providing more updates on the opening date on Facebook.
