A coffee shop based in Germany is moving into the U.S. market with locations planned for the Houston area and other large Texas metro areas. Coffee Fellows was founded by Kathrin and Stefan Tewes in Munich in 1999, and according to a World Coffee Portal article, the brand plans to open just over two dozen locations across the state of Texas through 2024 including in Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. The article continued that Coffee Fellows will open its first drive-thru concept in Houston.
According to a recent project filing, the first location could open sometime this fall. The space at just over 1,700-square-feet will be located at 3329 W Grand Pkwy. N, Ste. 700 in Katy. The filing stated the space must undergo an interior buildout for Coffee Fellows North America Corp before opening to the public.
The menu features high-quality coffee specialties and hot teas. A variety of bagel, ciabatta, panini, and other sandwiches featuring fresh ingredients are offered, as well as health-conscious bowls. Desserts such as cakes, cookies, and muffins are also offered.
Coffee Fellows has more than 230 coffee shops in Germany and Europe, according to the brand’s website, as well as several stores in Mongolia.
