Kilwins is continuing to expand its reach in the Greater Houston region. According to a recently filed permit, the premium confectionery and ice cream brand plans to open its next location in East Downtown (EaDo) at the East Village shopping center at 2118 Lamar Street, Suite 101.
The permit further details that construction on the new Kilwins is expected to start in August and wrap up in October. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $430,000 construction project, the new Kilwins in EaDo should open this fall.
At the helm of the opening are Kilwins regional franchisees Eric and Arielle Owens of Open Barrel, Inc. The couple already operates a few Kilwins in the region. What Now Houston reached out to the Ownens to learn more about the upcoming opening and expansion plans. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time this publication was published.
“Since 1947, Kilwins has been a celebrated part of Americana, having earned a reputation for providing high-quality chocolates, ice cream, & confections combined with excellent service,” the website reads.
Don and Katy Kilwin are the founders of the booming sweet shop brand, and the process the couple developed to create new and unique chocolate blends continues to this day, according to the website.
What Now also reached out to Kilwins president and CEO Brian Britton to obtain details about the new opening, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Kilwins is anticipated to open in East Downtown (EaDo) at the East Village shopping center, 2118 Lamar Street, Suite 101, by this fall.
