A new dining concept from Mac Haik Restaurant Group is set to open in Houston. Kirkwood is the restaurant opening in the city’s Energy Corridor. It aims to create a warm and meaningful destination that is connected to the community.
Kirkwood to Open as a New Dining Spot in Houston

Kirkwood, a modern restaurant inspired by the life and legacy of Mac Haik, is opening on May 11, 2026. Located at Energy Tower II on Katy Freeway, the restaurant will combine modern design, upscale American food, and a layout suited for both business and social dining.
The restaurant’s name honors Kirkwood Road, which is a key part of Houston’s Energy Corridor. The magnolia symbol reflects Haik’s Mississippi roots, while references to his football career appear throughout the space.
“This project reflects Houston’s welcoming and lasting spirit,” said COO Dan Anfinson. “Kirkwood is designed to feel personal from the moment guests walk in.”
Chef-Driven Menu

Executive chef Stephen Chiang brings his experience working in top restaurants in New York and Houston to Kirkwood. The menu will include classics like hamachi crudo, miso tuna wonton tartare, pork chop, truffle parmesan ravioli, and steak frites. Guests can also enjoy caviar service and a tableside-carved Chateaubriand for sharing.
The beverage program includes signature cocktails such as the Kirkwood Old Fashioned and the “Oiler 86.” It will also feature a curated wine list, along with spirits and beer.
Interiors Blend Houston Legacy with Modern Design

The new restaurant spans a 6,997-square-foot space offering a mix of open and private spaces. Gin Design Group designed the interiors, featuring rich materials, dark woods, and a replica of the Astrodome at the entrance. Artwork by Paul Dove and Lucy MacQueen adds a personal touch throughout the space.
The restaurant also has a main dining area, a private Frances Room, and a sunroom called the Sunny Room. References to the Houston Oilers appear throughout the space, adding its connection to the community.
Kirkwood is set to become a notable addition to Houston’s Energy Corridor. It brings together thoughtful design, chef-driven cuisines, and a strong sense of local history. It aims to offer a dining experience that is both refined and welcoming.
