Great Clips is embarking on a Humble opening. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new Harris County Great Clips is planned to open within the Market at The Groves at 15906 Woodland Hills Dr., Suite #300.
The permit further details that construction on the new Great Clips is currently underway and is slated to be completed by the end of October this year. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $120,000 construction project, the new Great Clips in the Greater Houston region should open by this fall.
“Build demising wall, interior framing, grid ceiling, new bathroom, electrical work for new service, interior electrical work, Install new RTU, painting, flooring & install Great clips fixtures,” the permit for the new 1200 square-foot Great Clips reads.
What Now Houston briefly chatted with co-franchisee David Hinojosa, who was listed on the permit. Unfortunately, Hinojosa was unable to share further details by the time of this publication.
“Houston franchisees, Dave and Adriana Hinojosa, a husband-and-wife team, find many rewards in franchising,” the Great Clips franchise website reads.
“More time for family, flexibility in their daily schedules, the rewarding affect they have on the people that they work with, and the impact they have on other people’s lives.”

Great Clips was founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1982 by Steve Lemmon and David Rubenzer, introducing a convenient walk-in salon model with evening and weekend hours. The first salons opened near the University of Minnesota, initially offering $2 haircuts targeted at busy families and college students. In ’83, Ray Barton joined as an owner and CEO, bringing critical franchising expertise that shaped the brand’s rapid expansion. In the late ’80s, the company fully transitioned into a franchise-based operational strategy.
