Kare Mart is expanding and working on opening a new location. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the new convenience store is expected to open in the Inner Loop River Oaks/Montrose neighborhood at 444 Montrose Blvd.
The standalone retail storefront building is not officially part of a major shopping center. It previously housed the Etheria Salon & Day Spa.
The permit for the new Montrose Kare Mart further details that construction is slated to start toward the end of November this year and is slated to wrap up by the end of April next year. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $771,000 construction project, the new Kare Mart should open by Spring 2027.
“Construct a New Convenience Store with a new gas station,” the permit for the new 5,685-square-foot Kare Mart reads.
At the helm of the opening is Asim Karedia, who was listed on various permits for Kare Mart locations opening throughout the state. What Now Houston reached out to Karedia to find out more about the upcoming Montrose opening. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Kare Market, sometimes searched as Kare Mart, is an independent local convenience store and gas station. There is no extensive corporate history or historical archive documenting Kare Market as a major regional or national chain. Instead, it operates as an independent neighborhood stop in Houston. The location functions as a combined gas station, convenience store, and deli known locally for freshly prepared foods like wings and tortas.
The brand does not yet have a website and/or social media presence, so it’s hard to tell what else the convenience store offers. But we’re sure that as we inch closer to opening, more will be revealed. So keep your eyes peeled, and your ears perked for the latest.
Kare Mart is anticipated to open within the Inner Loop River Oaks/Montrose neighborhood at 444 Montrose Blvd by next Spring.
