School of Rock announced the grand opening of School of Rock Fulshear. The free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 6511 Skyline Drive, Suite 100, Fulshear, Texas.
The celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting at 10:30 a.m., live performances by four local bands, an instrument petting zoo where guests of all ages can try drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals, school tours, and appearances by local vendors. Acai Brasil Fulshear, Simplicitie Beauty, Back Nine Golf, Celebree School, Cross Creek Ranch, and Scoops will all be on-site with samples, giveaways, and more. Families who enroll on the day of the grand opening will receive 50% off the sign-up fee and $50 off their first full month.
School of Rock Fulshear is owned by Trazanna and Vince Moreno, a husband-and-wife team whose connection to School of Rock runs deep. Their daughter, Evelyn, walked into School of Rock Katy at age eight for a Rock 101 summer camp and never looked back, eventually playing drums, bass, and vocals, becoming House Band Captain, and earning a drumstick endorsement from Techra at age 17. Vince also had his own School of Rock journey, which took him from occasional volunteer helping with audio at shows, to drum student, to adult band participant, to director of adult band and performance show director at the Katy location.
Trazanna is a former news anchor at KPRC TV in Houston and currently serves as Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Prairie View A&M University. Vince spent 30 years as a broadcast engineer at KPRC TV before retiring early to open the franchise, a decision that followed his own path with School of Rock.
“School of Rock changed our daughter’s life,” said Vince Moreno, co-owner of School of Rock Fulshear in a statement. “We watched her go from simply loving music to finding her confidence, her people, and her voice, onstage and off. As a family, we’ve seen what happens when a kid is supported, challenged, and celebrated for who they are. Opening School of Rock Fulshear is our way of sharing that same experience with other families by creating a place where kids can grow, belong, and discover what they’re capable of through music.”
The Morenos’ experience reflects what School of Rock’s 2025 Social Impact Study found across more than 1,400 families: 84.8% of parents reported progress in their child’s confidence, expressing ideas, awareness of nonverbal communication, initiating conversations, or participating in group discussions since starting at School of Rock.*
Evelyn Moreno, now a drum, Little Wing, and Rookies instructor at the school, is also a founding member of Garbage Girlfriend, an all-girl band formed by four former School of Rock students that has released five singles, plays paid gigs across Texas, and releases its self-titled EP this summer. Garbage Girlfriend is one of four local alumni bands, alongside Pinkie Promise, The Shroons, and D.O.G, performing live at the grand opening. All four groups are active in the Houston music scene, the majority write and release original music, and all band members are current or former School of Rock students, providing a great example at the School of Rock Fulshear Grand Opening of the lasting positive impact School of Rock can have.
“The Moreno family didn’t just believe in the School of Rock program, they lived it,” said Stacey Ryan, President of School of Rock. “Trazanna and Vince watched their daughter find her confidence, her community, and her voice through School of Rock, and then they each found something meaningful in it for themselves. That kind of personal investment in what this program can do for a family is exactly what makes a great School of Rock owner. The Fulshear community is going to feel that from day one.”
School of Rock Fulshear serves the communities of Fulshear, north and west Katy, Sealy, Brookshire, Simonton, Wallis, Pattison, Pittsville, and Sunny Side. The school offers music programs for all skill levels and age groups, from kids as young as five years old to a growing adult program. Students receive weekly one-on-one instruction on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or vocals, and participate in group rehearsals that culminate in live performances at real venues. School of Rock’s patented performance-based model builds musical skills while fostering life skills like creativity, resilience, and teamwork.
