Known as the culinary powerhouse behind restaurants like Azumi, Order of the Ace, and the Ruxton, Atlas Restaurant Group is a hospitality company that is “Motivated to Amaze.”
“With an uncompromising effort to deliver authentic cuisine from around the world, Atlas Restaurant Group is a lifestyle hospitality group that focuses on the integrity of product, impeccable service and an unparalleled entertainment experience that has redefined the traditional dining experience,” says the company’s website.
Now, the company is at work on a new restaurant project in the Riverfront Plaza downtown. According to coverage by the Jacksonville Daily Record, “a Downtown Investment Authority committee voted 3-0 on April 30 to recommend that the DIA move forward on a proposal from Baltimore-based Atlas Restaurant Group to design, build, and lease a restaurant building at Riverfront Plaza on the Downtown Northbank. In its proposal, Atlas cited its Choptank restaurants… as a brand that would influence the Jacksonville location.”
The Choptank, located in Annapolis, Maryland, is “a classic fish & crab house serving Maryland’s famous cuisine, highlighted by steamed hard-shell blue crabs,” says the Choptank’s website. “Enjoy a cocktail, crush, or one of 20 draft beer selections while listening to live local musicians on our indoor stage. The Choptank’s spacious waterfront deck and rooftop features plenty of seating so you can watch the bustling neighborhood and docks that surround you.”
Details on how the Riverfront Plaza restaurant might differ from Annapolis’s Choptank location in terms of its design or menu are not available at the moment.
