Located at 6496 Medical Center Street, Suite 100, Cafe Mong is a sister to crepe, croiffle, and bingsoo shop Sweet Mong. The cafe, whose menu draws from American, Korean, and Japanese cuisines, is now working on an expansion. Founded in 2021, the Cafe Mong brand will launch its second location this August, at 911 W Sahara Ave, Suite 110.
What Now confirmed the news with owner Hee-tae Bae on Thursday. Bae said the new location will feature the same favorites currently offered at Cafe Mong, but that there are still a few surprises in store.
Expect to find a few more Korean and Japanese dishes (bibimbap from Korean cuisine, for example), along with adventurous new Korean- and Japanese-influenced brunch options.
“There’s going to be seating inside, plus a small patio,” said Bae.
Popular items from the current location’s menu include Avocado Toast, a Chicken Pesto Panini, and crepe varieties both savory and sweet, including flavors ranging from Truffle Prosciutto to Strawberry Banana Nutella.
The Sahara Avenue location is situated on the southeast corner of the intersection with South Fort Apache Road. There, Cafe Mong will join restaurants like Kungfu Dumplings, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican.
