Founded in 2014, local caterer and event planner Chicali Tacos has been hard at work “bringing Mexicali’s taco flair to Las Vegas” for more than ten years. Now, the brand is preparing to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Licensing paperwork shows the opening planned at 9272 Tamarus Street, Suites 138-140.
What Now confirmed news of the opening with owner Gabriel Gonzalez on Monday. Gonzalez says the restaurant signed the lease for the space on Tamarus Street about a month ago and is waiting on permitting.
What can we expect in terms of the menu? Anything new? What Now asked.
“The menu is going to be what we have on the website, but we are also going to add six to eight more menu items.”
That menu features tacos made with flour or corn tortillas, proteins like carne asada and chicken, sides like cilantro-lime rice and pinto beans, and toppings like guacamole and red hot salsa. Gonzalez says it’s still too early to reveal new additions to the menu.
“The Mexicali taco style is mesquite grilled meat served on flour or corn tortillas with tasty sides and a buffet of toppings,” says the Chicali Tacos website. “Our Taco Masters bring the passion to serve your guests at your corporate party, special event, family gathering and many more.”
And soon they’ll be bringing that passion to bear on Chicali Tacos’ first brick-and-mortar restaurant!
