What Now Las Vegas reported in January on the reopening of the then-closed Irene’s Cocktail Lounge. The restaurant is no longer marked “temporarily closed” and now looks to be headed into a period of transition. Building permit paperwork recently filed with Clark County shows plans for a major renovation project called Jackpot Joanie’s at the same address, 5480 Spring Mountain Rd, with an estimated $750,000 budgeted for construction. It would thus appear that Irene’s Cocktail Lounge is slated for a rebrand.
Irene’s Cocktail Lounge offers its guests 24-hour eats, drinks, and gaming. Its menu has featured breakfast plates like Biscuits and Gravy, Crispy Chicken Fried Steak, and Irene’s Kitchen Sink Omelet, burgers like the Billy the Kid Burger (Topped with bacon, American cheese and our special dressing), and sandwiches like Irene’s Turkey Melt and the Club Sub.
What Now Las Vegas unable to reach Irene’s owner Tammi DeBauche for comment on Tuesday; no representative of Jackpot Joanie’s was immediately available for comment either.
With more than 15 locations in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Laughlin, Jackpot Joanie’s—behind which is local businessman Ron Winchell, the man behind other successful brands like Winchell’s Pub & Grill—operates in a similar space to Irene’s: 24/7 food, drink, and gaming. It makes it a natural fit, with an already-existing local clientele already frequenting the standalone building on Spring Mountain.
No announcement has been made regarding the rebrand or any timeline for construction, closing, or reopening at 5480 Spring Mountain spot.
