Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is embarking on a second Greater Houston region opening. The opening is planned for the Magnolia Woods Office Park at 923 Honea Egypt Road, according to Community Impact.

This will be the second opening for Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea operator Heather Martin and her husband, Arron, who opened a location on 9511 FM 1488. What Now Houston briefly spoke with Arron, who handles the construction part of the business, and confirmed a summer opening. What Now also spoke with Heather, who confirmed the opening and shared some excitement, but was unfortunately unable to share more information about the upcoming opening by the time of this publication.

Wei and Lisa Bee founded the first Sweetwaters in 1993 in downtown Ann Arbor near their alma mater, the University of Michigan,” the Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea website reads.

“Inspired by their love of food and drink and driven by their creativity, Sweetwaters was conceived and brought to life. The marvelous result: a coffeehouse that celebrates classic café fare alongside globally influenced coffees and teas in an environment that is both classic and friendly—just like Wei and Lisa.”

The Bees opened the first Sweetwaters and Tea Coffee location in a 100-year-old building on the corner of South Ashley and West Washington streets in downtown Ann Arbor. The two and the brand have come a long way since.

“Today, they both remain integral to daily life at Sweetwaters through their stores, community involvement, and search for inspirational products for their guests. Stop by to meet them and say hi if you’d like,” the Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea website reads

“Chances are you’ll find them chatting with one of the many regular guests who have now become their friends.”

There are now 39 Sweetwaters Coffee and Tea locations operating across the United States. The rapidly growing coffee and tea franchise operates in 12 states, with the largest concentrations in Michigan, with 13, Texas, with eight, and Ohio, with five.

The café chain is famous for its globally inspired coffees, signature Asian-influenced teas, and fresh café fare. Their menu spans a wide range of beverages alongside fresh-baked goods and light meals.

As we inch closer towards the opening of the second Greater Houston location, we’re sure details about a grand opening will be revealed. So keep your ears perked and your eyes open for the latest.
