Breakfast by Salt’s Cure officially closed its doors after serving its final meal on June 24. The staple food joint bid farewell to the West Hollywood community after 16 years of service. The chain will continue to operate its other Los Angeles locations and has also expanded with a new Silver Lake location.
After 16-Year Run, Breakfast by Salt’s Cure Has Shut Down
Chef Chris Phelps founded Salt’s Cure, which later expanded with the Breakfast by Salt’s Cure concept. Phelps opened Salt’s Cure’s flagship West Hollywood restaurant in 2010.
Over the years, as the popularity of the restaurant grew, it expanded its footprint across LA and New York.
The restaurant announced the closure on social media on June 25. It held the last service of its Santa Monica Boulevard location on June 24.
It was well-known for serving OG Oatmeal Griddle Cakes, Fruit Griddle Cakes, and breakfast sandwiches. In the post, the restaurant team stated that the menu will vary slightly during this transition period.
“Over the next few weeks, the Highland location will officially turn into a Breakfast by Salt’s Cure, and all of your favorite menu items can be found there in addition to a proper patio and a full bar, plus the AC works,” said the team.

Brand Continues Expansion with Silver Lake Location
Following the West Hollywood closure, the company encouraged customers to visit its remaining locations. “There will still be 3 locations of Breakfast by Salt’s Cure in Los Angeles,” the team wrote.
Additionally, the restaurant has opened its new location near Highland Avenue in the Silver Lake neighborhood.
The restaurant team, including Marlene, Eliseo, Sara, Sandra, Chris, and Honorio, will continue to work with the restaurant in its other locations.
Although the West Hollywood restaurant has closed, Breakfast by Salt’s Cure continues to operate at its remaining Los Angeles locations.
