Clark’s Oyster Bar, an Austin-based concept from McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality, otherwise known as MML Hospitality, is preparing to open in Malibu at 23465 Civic Center Way.

The restaurant’s fourth location is set to open at the Cross Creek Ranch shopping center sometime next early year, according to a recent job posting from the hospitality company. A brochure from the development shows Clark’s Osyer Bar will sit across from Kith, which is already open along with Frankie’s Bikinis. Other tenants coming to Cross Creek Ranch include Wally’s Wine & Spirits, Pura Vida Miami, Le Labo, and more.

This will be the first time Clark’s Oyster Bar opens a location in California, as its other sites are in Austin, Aspen, and Houston. Since opening in 2012 in the Old West Austin neighborhood near downtown, Clark’s Austin has become an Austin institution for all things seafood: freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, and bowls of chowder and cioppino. After the success of Austin, MML Hospitality expanded the concept into Aspen, offering the country’s best oyster & caviar selections from its marble raw bar, freshly baked sourdough, overflowing lobster rolls, delicious burgers, and more. Last year, MML Hospitality opened Clark’s Oyster Bar in Houston, which has the same delicious menu items, except in the most prominent location yet.

Austin founded McGuire Moorman Hospitality, Texas-based chefs Larry McGuire and Tom Moorman in 2009. In 2021, MMH changed its name to MML Hospitality by adding hotelier and partner Liz Lambert. Today, MML Hospitality enters an exciting time of development and creativity with the addition of hotel projects and a wider range of hospitality, retail, and design projects across the country. Other concepts within the group’s portfolio include Swedish Hill Cafe Aspen, Louis Swiss Bakery, Rosie’s Wine Bar, Las Montañas Mexican Restaurant, Pecan Square Café, Joann’s Fine Foods, Jeffrey’s Restaurant & Bar, Josephine House, Perla’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, and more.
