Luna Bistro & Cafe, which originated in Bakersfield, will expand to Marina del Rey this fall. It will open at 13181 Mindanao Way at Villa Marina Marketplace in the space formerly home to Kalaveras. The team is aiming for a September opening and currently has construction ongoing in the space, a spokesperson with the brand told What Now Los Angeles.

Luna Bistro & Cafe opened in Bakersfield in late 2023 and expanded to Long Beach in 2025.

The forthcoming location is about 8,000 square feet and will feature the traditional all-day Luna Bistro menu. The fusion menu features pasta, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, coffee, and Mexican classics such as carnitas.

The design of the space will offer a fresh look compared to the existing locations and will feature plenty of curves rather than straight edges.

The team is hoping to continue to expand thoughtfully across the area, the spokesperson said.
