High-end golf experience facility Urban Golf Performance is preparing to open a new location in Woodland Hills at 6537 Topanga Canyon Blvd. COO Leo Rooney told What Now Los Angeles that they are aiming to open the location this September.

The Woodland Hills facility will span more than 7,000 square feet and will mark the fifth Southern California location for the brand. Urban Golf Performance launched in West Los Angeles in 2013 and later expanded to spots in Orange County, Santa Monica and most recently El Segundo. They also have one location outside of the state in Austin, Texas, which opened in 2024.

“It was natural to expand into the Valley in Los Angeles and grow our footprint in the Los Angeles area,” Rooney said.

The brand, founded by Mac Todd, aims to bring all the aspects of golf training under one roof. Urban Golf Performance features team members on site that focus on various aspects of training, from golf coaches to physical therapists and club fitters.

“It has everything a golfer would want to have,” Rooney said. “UGP has become known as a place where you have a five-star experience from a service and hospitality standpoint, and also the best team in golf helping you with coaching, fitness, physical therapy, club fitting, club building and mental coaching.”

While golf entertainment venues such as Topgolf have been exploding across the country, Urban Golf Performance offers a more performance-focused approach to golf. Designed for players across the entire spectrum of skill level from beginners to high-level players, Urban Golf Performance focuses on providing its high-end services to golfers looking to improve their game, health and lifestyle. Rather than offering bay rentals, Urban Golf Performance offers sessions that are private and by appointment only.

“We’re a pure performance facility where we work with every player that comes in,” Rooney said. “We have a highly trained team that works with the best players in the world like Min Woo Lee. It’s an experience where any golfer can come into our facility and be treated like a tour player.”

Moving forward, the Urban Golf Performance team is targeting strategic growth across the country. The next markets that they are eyeing for facilities are San Diego, Dallas and Scottsdale.
