A new cafe is in the works at 4514 Summer Ave Suite #1. Aldar Cafe, set to welcome guests in late 2023 or early 2024, promises a unique experience rooted in Yemen’s rich ties to coffee. Owned by Hassan Al-Wadei, the cafe draws inspiration from Mocha, a historic port city in Yemen celebrated as the birthplace of coffee exports.

Hailing from Yemen himself, Al-Wadei aims to share the flavors of his homeland with the world. The menu will showcase a wide array of Yemeni coffee, sourced directly from its place of origin. As an homage to this heritage, Aldar Cafe will also serve baked goods, including traditional Yemeni pastries, as well as treats such as croissants, danishes, and muffins.

While the cafe plans to offer a limited breakfast and lunch menu, it will not be a full-fledged restaurant. Currently in the final stages of certification and interior design, Aldar Cafe is poised to become a cultural hub for coffee enthusiasts seeking a taste of Yemen in Memphis.
