Could Germantown be the next home for Memphis area coffee favorite Ramblin’ Joe’s? A recent meeting of the Design Review Commission Subcommittee certainly indicates that to be the case. The popular concept has filed papers indicating it hopes to complete some exterior improvements at the former home of Simmons Bank.
The cafe has big plans for the storefront at 1227 S Germantown Road, suite 101. Submitted plans show that Ramblin’ Joe’s hopes to develop a quaint and charming patio area on the property. A rendering shows that the outdoor seating area will have 4 tables with 8 chairs, a bar with 5 chairs, and several planters for seasonal flowers. Ramblin’ Joe’s is also requesting permission to add a bike rack.
The work will require the removal of present landscaping before the new additions can be placed. Given these considerations, it is difficult to estimate a prospective opening timeline for Ramblin’ Joe’s Germantown location.
If all goes to plan, Ramblin’ Joe’s will span 3,000 square feet with 19 indoor seats and will feature a drive-thru.
Ramblin’ Joe’s currently has 5 locations open across Tennessee. The cafe has created life-long fans through its commitment to quick and friendly service, high quality food and drinks, and contributing to its community.
