Tacos La Fogata Returning Mexican Food to Memphis Storefront

The popular concept has filed papers to open in the former home of Elena’s Taco Shop.

In an exciting development for Memphis Mexican food enthusiasts, tacos will soon be making their triumphant return to an area storefront. Tacos La Fogata has filed papers to open in the restaurant space that previously housed Elena’s Taco Shop, ensuring local diners can once again enjoy the titular dish with ease.

 

Tacos La Fogata currently has a certificate of occupancy under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development for the restaurant space at 8610 Ricky Bell CV. The application states that the building will be undergoing a “use and occupancy name change”. It additionally establishes that Tacos La Fogata will be moving into a 2,450 square foot space with an occupant load of 80.

 

Tacos La Fogata has established its bona fides as a food truck located at 6456 E Shelby Drive. It has developed a devoted fan base through its authentic, freshly prepared Mexican cuisine, including favorites like birria tacos, gorditas, and burritos.

 

An opening timeline is not presently available for Tacos La Fogata’s upcoming storefront; its certificate of occupancy remains under review as of August 5. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership for further information and will update readers as details emerge.
