Memphis-area shoppers are getting a new home for old treasures. A shop called Sherri’s Vintage Home Market has filed paperwork to open a storefront in Arlington, bringing antique finds to the region.
Sherri’s Vintage Home Market has applied for a certificate of occupancy for 8765 Chaffee Road with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development. The submitted form shows that Sherri’s will be moving into an 800 square foot space.
Sherri’s Vintage Home Market is owned and operated by Sherri Simmers, who was kind enough to speak to What Now Memphis about her new endeavor and her bona fides, saying: “I buy vintage chandeliers and restore them to give them a second life. I sell vintage lighting, vintage furniture, vintage home decor, and dish-ware. I also refurbish vintage dressers, buffets, and tables. I have been selling out of a local antique mall for about 3 years and now I have my own business and space to work out of and sell to the public.”
An opening timeline is not yet available for Sherri’s Antique Fusion’s upcoming Arlington location-Simmers says that she is currently moving into the space and it should be opening relatively soon. She is looking forward to serving a community she has deep roots with; “I grew up right here in Brunswick and used to ride my bike down to the General Store. My Mother still lives here. Brunswick is home to me.”
