Founded in Fort Lauderdale before moving to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in late 2020, Even Keel Fish Shack is preparing to bring its fresh local fish back to Fort Lauderdale with a new location opening at 1111 E Las Olas Blvd.

“We’re going to be able to expand here a little bit,” Dave MacLennan, who helms the restaurant together with Brad Phillips, told What Now on Tuesday. “It’s a little bit bigger, and it’ll be something to match the Las Olas vibes, with some more refined dishes.”

MacLennan notes, as well, that the new location is opening in partnership with Mario Di Leo and Chris Wilber of Canyon fame.

“There will be some of their flare, some of the fan favorites Chris is known for.”

The new space will offer a considerable amount of seating: roughly 150 spots, much of which is located outside, where there will also be a lounge area with sofa seating. Expect the same great cocktails from mixologist Bootleg Greg, a raw bar, a vibrant cocktail program, and fresh-made ceviches.
