Founded in 2007 as San Diego hole-in-the-wall by Tony Farmand, AJ Akbar, and Wally Sadat, fast-casual Mediterranean chain The Kebab Shop has been expanding in recent years, with more than 30 locations currently operating. A new location in Texas led the brand to open several more there, and it relocated its headquarters to Texas during the pandemic.

Now the brand is headed to South Florida, with locations planned for Miramar (11225 Miramar Parkway) and Coral Springs.

“We’re committed to elevating Kebabs in America by combining European-Style Kebabs with our San Diego roots to create a memorable Mediterranean experience for all,” reads TKS’s website.

The menu features a build-your-own approach, allowing guests to top a wrap, plate, or box with proteins like Falafel, Carved Chicken, Carved Lamb Beef, Grilled Steak, and Grilled Beef Meatballs. Pre-imagined flavor profiles, called “Kebab Kreations,” include the San Diego Wrap (Adds Fries and Feta Cheese inside) and the Super Duper Wrap (Mixed Carved Meats, Hummus, Fries, Pickled Onions & Cilantro Jalapeno sauce).

What Now reached out to Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Tony Farmand this week to inquire about The Kebab Shop’s move to South Florida. Farmand was not immediately available for comment.
