Neotokyo Noodle Bar, a cyberpunk-inspired Japanese ramen restaurant located in Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles, is getting ready to open a new location in Mile End at 160 Rue St-Viateur E.
The restaurant, found at 425 Avenue Viger Ouest, opened in December 2022, offering an immersive dining experience reminiscent of scenes from Blade Runner and Akira. The interior features neon signage, graffiti, corrugated metal, and red lanterns, creating a gritty, futuristic atmosphere. The menu, developed in collaboration with renowned ramen chef Shigetoshi Nakamura, has become one of the best ramen restaurants in Montreal. Now the company is getting ready to open a second location, set to open in Summer 2025.
“It is with immense excitement that we announce the arrival of our second Neo Tokyo this summer, right in the heart of Mile End,” the restaurant says on its social media. “The NeoTokyo family is growing, and we can’t wait to share this new concept with you, designed to blend seamlessly into this vibrant, creative neighborhood. Stay tuned, we’ll reveal the name and all the details soon. We promise you something cool! A huge thank you for your support from the beginning; it’s thanks to you that we can keep dreaming. We can’t wait to see you in this new adventure!”
The ramen selection includes Tonkotsu, Shio Yuzu, and vegetarian truffle miso varieties. The restaurant also serves mazemen, such as Taiwanese-style soboro pork, salmon, and a carbonara-inspired option with bacon and Pecorino. Side dishes include spicy karaage, gyoza, shrimp wontons, edamame, and cucumber salad. Drinks on the menu feature Asahi beer, sake, and signature cocktails, such as the Matcha Biru. This will be an excellent location for the new location of Neotokyo Noodle Bar, considering the area is popular, walkable, and known for its diverse food scene and steady foot traffic.
